Hi! Iā€™m Alison. I am a yoga teacher and Thai yoga bodywork practitioner. Through bodywork, movement and breath, I help your mind and body work as a team so your whole self can conquer what needs conquering, digest the world around you, provide support to others, and release that which adds no value to you. I do not encourage disconnecting from our unjust and messy world but I do encourage us to breathe it in, taking in only what we need to push forward.

I have always used sports and exercise as a way to calm my brain. I participated in intense sports and exercise but I realized that while these activities were fun, I was pushing my brain and body, just as I did in at my job as an attorney. While I have been practicing yoga to improve my performance in sports for years, I now use yoga to take care of my body; to listen to what it is asking me to do for myself. This has been such a joyful practice for me that I want to offer these teachings to others.

Tools I use

  • Breath Regulation

Pranayama (Sanskrit term for breath regulation) strengthens our connection between body and mind. Pranayama can promote relaxation and mindfulness. It's also proven to support multiple aspects of physical health, including lung function, blood pressure, and brain function.

  • Movement

Asana practice connects the movement of our body with our mind through specific postures. Each of us needs a little different prescription of movement but the benefits are the same.

  • Bodywork

Thai bodywork relives muscle tension, improves flexibility, and promotes deep relaxation through massage and assisted stretching. Not only can this practice be a luxurious experience, it can also lead to greater flexibility can enhance sports performance.
